Our Journey

Uyeta Landscape & Maintenance has a rich history, tracing back to Kazumi Uyeta, who left Japan in 1955 to return to Washington State. After realizing his passion for landscaping in Tacoma, he married his wife Fuki and began his own gardening service in Seattle in 1967. The Uyetas worked hard to grow their business, balancing the demands of raising their four children and running a successful nursery operation. 

Their eldest son, Eddie, learned the ropes from a young age and eventually earned a degree in Landscape Architecture. He teamed up with his brother Wayne in 1990 to officially start Uyeta Landscape and Maintenance. Their brother Dana later joined them, creating a strong leadership team that steered the company through growth and expansion for over a decade. 

In the years that followed, both Wayne and Dana pursued other interests, leaving Eddie as the sole shareholder of the company. Today, Uyeta Landscape boasts a team of experienced professionals, serving over 500 clients in the greater Bellevue and Seattle area. With a new design division added in 2022, Eddie continues to uphold the family’s legacy of integrity, professionalism, and hard work.

Continuing the family legacy, Eddie Uyeta now introduces his own children to the business. He aims to instill in them the core values that underpin the company's success - diligence, entrepreneurial spirit, and the belief that hard work truly pays off. His hope is to pass on the traditions and values that have made Uyeta Landscape & Maintenance in Renton and surrounding areas in Washington what it is today.
